Operator, scope and eligibility

Meraki Softworks Ltd, company number 14223666, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is Flat 518, 101 Blackwall Way, London, England, E14 9QX. Email: contact@merakisoftworks.com.

These Terms govern ClearDebt and its associated online features. Please read them before using the app or buying paid access. App-store purchase terms also apply to transactions with the store. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract to use our app and online/AI services. Do not create an account for a child or submit a child's information to an AI feature. Your mandatory rights below always apply.

Planning tools, estimates and AI

ClearDebt offers debt and budget records, calculations, statement imports and automated planning suggestions. It is a planning and information tool, not a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified and, where required, regulated professional. We do not guarantee a debt-free date, interest saving, improvement in a credit score or any particular financial outcome.

Estimates depend on the information and assumptions used, including interest, fees, payment timing and changes to your circumstances. AI outputs and imported statement fields can be wrong or incomplete. Check them against your lender's statements and contractual terms before acting. Recording a payment or showing a reminder does not itself pay a creditor or change a lender's agreement. Do not stop a required payment or choose a debt solution solely because of an app suggestion. Seek appropriate independent debt advice if you are struggling to pay.

Licence, accounts and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control for its intended personal use, subject to these Terms, applicable law and the relevant store's permitted usage rules. You remain responsible for securing your device and credentials. Let us know if you suspect unauthorised account access.

Your content and online processing

You retain your rights in records, photos, notes and other content you supply. You authorise us and our service providers to host, copy, process and display that content only to deliver the features you use, provide support, secure the service and meet legal duties. This permission does not transfer ownership to us or grant an unrestricted right to sell your private content.

Local records, cloud backup and AI processing are different features. Signing in as a Pro user can automatically enable cloud backup. AI/import requests can send the selected content and relevant context to our online providers even apart from ordinary backup. Read the Privacy Policy before using them. Accepting these Terms is not consent to every optional data use.

Paid features, trials and renewal

The price, billing interval, trial terms and paid features for your purchase are set out in the applicable store offer. AI and other online features can have usage or rate limits; a Pro subscription does not by itself mean unlimited AI requests. A free download does not mean every feature is free. Some features depend on a supported device, an internet connection, provider availability or an active entitlement.

If you select an auto-renewing subscription, it renews on the displayed billing cycle unless cancelled under the store's rules. A trial can convert to a paid subscription on the terms shown at purchase. Manage or cancel through Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Uninstalling, signing out or deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancellation generally stops a future renewal; access and refunds follow the offer and applicable law.

See our Refund Policy. Where a cooling-off right applies, it is lost for immediate digital supply only if the conditions required by law, including express consent and acknowledgement where required, are met. These Terms alone do not waive it. Contact us if a store directs you to the developer or a paid feature is defective or unavailable.

Maintenance, changes and suspension

We may make reasonable changes for legal, security, compatibility or technical reasons. We will provide the notice required by law for a material change affecting an existing paid service. We will not use this clause to retrospectively remove paid entitlements or statutory remedies. Where a change materially reduces what you bought and applicable law gives a cancellation or refund right, that right remains available.

We may proportionately suspend access for a serious breach, unlawful activity or a security risk. Where practicable and lawful, we will explain why and give a reasonable opportunity to correct a remediable breach or challenge an error. Urgent protection or a legal requirement may require immediate action. If we withdraw a paid service, applicable notice, refund and other consumer obligations still apply.

Stopping use and deletion

You can stop using the app at any time. Keep appropriate copies of records you need before clearing local data. Uninstalling or disabling sync does not itself erase cloud records, provider records or device backups. Use the ClearDebt deletion instructions or contact us for account/data deletion. The Privacy Policy explains retention, verification and deletion exceptions. Cancel your store subscription separately.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts your mandatory consumer rights, privacy rights, or a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any other non-excludable liability, including for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where applicable.

Where applicable law requires digital content or services to match their description, be of satisfactory quality, be fit for a purpose made known to us, or be supplied with reasonable care and skill, those requirements and statutory remedies still apply. Consumers in Australia retain the guarantees and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law. A store policy or an “as is” statement does not replace these rights.

Responsibility for loss

Subject to the rights and exceptions above, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude responsibility for all data loss or for every problem involving a provider we use. For personal consumer use, we do not accept liability for business losses such as lost business profits or opportunities. For business use only, we exclude indirect or consequential losses to the extent lawful. No exclusion applies where the law prohibits it.

External services

App stores, maps, linked websites and other services you open have their own terms and policies. We do not control their content or availability. This does not remove our responsibility for our own service or any liability for providers that applicable law places on us.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for the reasons described above. Updates apply prospectively; the date above identifies this version. We will give appropriate notice of material changes and seek acceptance where legally required. Continued use is not a waiver of existing rights or consent to unrelated data processing. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the affected feature and exercise any cancellation/refund rights that apply.

Law, disputes and contact

The laws of England and Wales govern these Terms. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the laws of your country of habitual residence, and you can bring claims in any courts available to you under applicable consumer law. For business users, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing requires compulsory arbitration or waives a right to complain to a regulator.

For support, complaints or questions about these Terms, email contact@merakisoftworks.com or write to our registered office. We will try to resolve a concern, but contacting us first is not a compulsory barrier to a legal remedy. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest continues where lawful without defeating mandatory rights.
