Overview
To.Go helps you save places you want to visit, organise them on a map, and plan trips in collections. We take a privacy-conscious approach: most of what you save stays on your device unless you choose a feature that stores data in the cloud. This website does not use third-party trackers.
What we collect
- Places you save — names, notes, tags, photos, links, visit status, and location coordinates you add or import into the app.
- Collections — trip or theme groupings you create and the places assigned to them.
- Location — when you grant permission, the app may use your device location to pin places, show them on the map, or open directions in Apple Maps or Google Maps.
- Photos — images you attach to a place from your camera or photo library.
- Account & sync (if enabled) — an account identifier and synced place data so your saves can be backed up or restored across devices. We'll explain this clearly before you turn it on.
- Purchases — if you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, Apple and/or Google may provide purchase or entitlement identifiers so we can validate access and prevent fraud.
- Analytics — coarse usage events (e.g. screens used, app version, device type) to understand which features help and improve the product.
- Crash reports — diagnostic data (stack traces, OS version) to fix stability issues.
- Website — standard server logs (IP address, browser type) retained briefly for security and abuse prevention.
How we use data
- Display, organise, and sync your saved places and collections.
- Show your places on the map and list views inside the app.
- Operate purchases or subscriptions and verify entitlements.
- Improve features, performance, and reliability.
- Respond to support requests and send important service notices.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal bases (UK/EU users)
- Contract — providing the app and processing purchases.
- Legitimate interests — improving the app, preventing fraud, and keeping it secure.
- Consent — where required for location, photos, analytics, or optional cloud sync; you can withdraw consent in system or in-app settings.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us run the app (e.g. hosting, sync, analytics, crash reporting, payment platforms), with maps or link-preview services when you open external URLs, with authorities if required by law, and in a merger or acquisition as permitted by law. Vendors must process data only on our instructions and with appropriate safeguards.
Retention
- On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Synced data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion, unless law requires longer retention.
- Purchase records are retained as needed for access, accounting, and legal obligations.
- Analytics and crash logs are kept for limited periods appropriate to diagnostics.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards and collect only what we need. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure — please protect your device with a passcode or biometrics.
Your choices & rights
- Delete places, collections, or photos in the app, or remove the app to delete local data.
- Control location, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
- Opt out of optional analytics where settings are provided.
- UK/EU users may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. Contact us below to exercise these rights.
- California users may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell personal information.
Children
To.Go is not directed to children under 16 and should not be used by them.
International transfers
If data is transferred outside your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) where required.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notified in-app or on this page.
